Pennie has been with our law firm since 1983. She was born and raised in Johnston City, where she attended school. She is a vital part of our practice, concentrating her work primarily in the intricacies of Illinois workers compensation. She and her husband raised their two boys in Johnston City, where they still reside. Pennie enjoys travel, is active in her church and community, and her expert flower arrangements are highly sought after during Prom and Homecoming seasons.
Sarah joined us in 2014, having completed training in Shorthand Stenography Court Reporting. She grew up in West Frankfort, the daughter of one of West Frankfort’s furniture store owners. Sarah largely focuses her work in obtaining and coordinating our client’s medical records and bills. She and her husband live in West Frankfort, where they enjoy making music, their church, and St. Louis Cardinals baseball.
Bob came to law firm in 2016, having retired from a successful 29 year career as a Law Enforcement Officer in the Williamson County Sheriff’s Department. Bob is not only our Investigator, but is also a Certified Illinois Vehicle Crash Reconstructionist, which can prove critical in disputed car wreck cases. A lifelong southern Illinoisan, Bob’s favorite pastime is golf, and he volunteers every year at the Masters Golf Tournament in Augusta, Georgia.
Pam joined us in 1999 as a Paralegal. Her duties at HDSL include dealing with the complicated regulations surrounding Medicare coverage, insurance liens, and finalizing settlements to our clients’ advantage. Pam and her husband raised their children in Marion, and still reside there. She enjoys travel, motorcycles, and dedicating her time to her church.
Wendy was hired in 2015 as a Paralegal. She was raised in Carterville, and moved back to southern Illinois after 25 years in St. Louis and Lexington, KY. Wendy’s expertise is varied, as she devotes much of her time to discovery, depositions, appeals, and handling Summons and Subpoenas. She lives in Carbondale, and loves traveling to the beach, her pets, and is an expert homemade soapmaker.
Paula has been with HDSL since 2015. She grew up in Johnston City, and she and her husband still reside on a farm east of town where they raised their kids. As our Receptionist, Paula is the first person our clients usually encounter on the phone or in person, and she excels at making people feel comfortable. She also is responsible for running our law firm’s calendar software to ensure our business runs smoothly. Paula and her husband enjoy raising goats, sheep, and honeybees.
